Yilian aids a Beijing veteran named Mr. Fu who had been petitioning the authorities for treatment, voluntarily intervening to settle his years-long dispute with his work unit. At present, Yilian is using proxy representation, legal guidance, and so forth to resolve a backlog of 77 such petition cases.

July 2008

The draft version of the “Beijing Legal Aid Ordinances” is released. Yilian is invited to attend several symposia and put forward proposed changes.

May 2008

Yilian submits a proposal on “The Regulation on the Implementation of the Employment Contract Law of the People's Republic of China” to the State Council Legislative Affairs Office.

Yilian lawyer Zhu Maolin writes an article in Xinhua News Agency’s "China Comment” magazine entitled “Experts Predict Five Trends of Labor Disputes.” The article is reprinted in a number of mainstream media outlets. Yilian uses this as a starting point to focus sustained attention on labor laws, to make industry forecasts from a professional standpoint, and to promote sound policy.
