On the evening of December 22nd, staff of Beijing Yilian Legal Aid and Research Center visited over 20 workers of 4 dormitories at Peking University construction site. In the training session, two legal professionals deeply interviewed the workers, analyzed their problems and discussed how to collect evidence to determine the existence of labor relationship.
As it has been the end of the year, workers questions mainly focused on the distribution of salaries and occupational injury compensation. The staff also found an injured worker and took him as an example to show the importance of labor relationship determination and the process concerning advance payment of occupational injury insurance. The workers presented their questions and acquired satisfying reply.
Playing cards and labor law materials were also distributed in this session. The team also emphasized that workers may call Yilian’s hotline when they encounter troubles concerning labor relationship and Yilian would be able to provide free legal consultation service.
Up till the session on Thursday, the Yilian team had carried out three labor law training sessions with the method of deep interviewing. The training was designed to convey the information to the workers in an easier way. After the events, a lot of workers joined the Wechat group of Yilian to keep long-term contact.
