Mr Huang Leping

The Center's Director, Mr Leping Huang, has received numerous awards for his contributions to labor rights in China. In 2009, The Communist League of China named him the National Outstanding Young Defender. In 2007, he was elected as the National Outstanding Lawyer in Protecting Labor Rights by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), the Ministry of Justice and the National Bar Association. That same year he also received the Outstanding Lawyer in Legal Aid award from the Beijing Judicature Bureau

and both the National May 1st Labor Medal and the nationwide 5-1 Labor Prize from the ACFTU. In 2007 alone Mr Huang accepted more than 40 interviews from numerous media, such as CCTV and Workers’ Daily. He has thus become well-known as the face of labor rights protection in China. The Center has a dedicated team of lawyers and social research professionals committed to continuing to advance labor rights into the future.
